Gorgeous new Moby fabric

July 19, 2011

Moby MajesticJust in today, this utterly gorgeous deep purple fabric is called ‘Majesty’.

The Moby Wrap is a brilliant sling to use from birth but lasts well, as – like all wraps – it spreads the weight of even heavy, older babies really well.  Please visit our website to read more details about this product.

The Majesty Moby is now in stock available to order.  If anyone was waiting for the Moby UV in Wisteria (a gorgeous smoky pale purple) we have more of those in today too.

Apologies for being a lazy blogger

June 9, 2011

Hi :)

I’ve noticed that this blog is still picking up new followers which is great *waves to new people*, but I thought I’d better explain why it’s rather quiet at the moment.  I mainly use the blog if I have a big announcement such a new product line, a competition or a sale.  These sorts of things don’t happen very often, which is why the blog sometimes has fairly long stretches with no updates.  They tend to come along all at once like buses.

Smaller less important announcements (like stock arriving or new fabrics or general chit chat) tend to go on the Little Possums Facebook page but not here.  This is mainly because it’s really quick and easy to post on Facebook but WordPress takes rather more time and effort.

So… if you want to hear more regularly from me and you are a Facebook user it’s worth following our Facebook page too.  There is also a  Little Possums Twitter page that is linked to Facebook so you get all the same updates/announcements on that too if Twitter is more your thing.

So don’t give up on the blog, there will be new stuff but probably not much now until the Autumn as Summer tends to be a busy family time for me.

Thank you for following :)

Phil

New fabric for the Ellaroo Wrap in stock

February 15, 2011

Hi blog followers.  Gosh – it’s been a while!  The business tends to have a fallow period over the winter.  Sales are usually quiet as people are spending more on Christmas and I’m usually too busy with the festivities to devote extra time to growing the business.

However just this last week I’ve felt spring in the air which has got me looking at new things to add to our range.  I decided to start with the Ellaroo Wrap in ’fuchsia’ as our first new addition for 2011.  We don’t carry many pink toned slings and this one is a beauty.  It’s a really dark ‘hot pink’ that makes me think of raspberries; with the other half of the wrap in bright multi coloured stripes.  It’s really vibrant and lovely but not terminally girly – I think I would have been able to get my husband into this :)

The Ellaroo Wrap is a great lightweight woven wrap, suitable for all ages of baby/toddler and is one of our best sellers.  If you’re tempted with one of these you can find them on our Wrap Slings page.

Introducing the Beco Gemini

November 10, 2010

Beco CarrierIt’s been a busy week here – two lovely new carriers in stock to tell you about!   I’ve now managed to get both of them up on the website, hurrah!

The Beco Gemini is the latest addition to the Beco family of carriers.  We haven’t stocked the Beco before, but I’ve been thinking about it for ages as people keep telling me how great they are.  I’m very excited to have finally taken the plunge.

The Beco Gemini is a birth to toddler soft structured carrier that adapts to suits the needs of your growing baby at different ages and stages.  It is very versatile offering tummy to tummy, front facing out, hip and back carrying positions.

Soft, comfortable and supportive the Beco ticks all the boxes.    It also comes in some very beautiful patterened designs as well as the safe option of solid black.

To read the full details please visit the soft slings page of our website.

The Scootababy, a fabulous new hip carrier

November 10, 2010

ScootababyThis baby carrier turned me into a stalker, seriously!

During half term week while I was at the Eden Project with Mr Possum and the small Possums, we saw a mum with a biggish baby wearing one of these.  It’s not often I see a sling I don’t recognise, so I chased her through the willow tunnel to ask her what it was.  She told me, showed me how it worked and raved about it.  Her baby looked pretty happy in it too.

The Scootababy Baby Carrier is primarily intended for use as a hip carrier, but can also be used on the back or the front. The hip position is a natural carrying position that babies and toddlers love and many parents prefer.

The Scootababy is quick and easy to get on and off so is ideal for toddlers who like to walk some of the time.  It’s also easily adjustable so is ideal if both parents like to take a turn at carrying their child when out and about.

The padded waist, soft stretchy fleece shoulder strap and curved body of the Scootababy make this an incredibly comfortable way to carry even heavy toddlers.

Oh and if you’re not tempted enough already, did I mention that it also comes in some superbly funky prints as well as plain black?  Go to the Hip Carriers page on our website to view the full range and to find out more.

Close Baby Carrier Reversible now in stock

October 22, 2010

close baby carrierIt’s like the Close Baby Carrier but prettier!  Ideal for the family where the mum fancies a pretty sling but the dad won’t be seen dead in anything with flowers on :)

The Close Baby Carrier Reversible is  ingenious  hybrid design which manages to combine the comfort and weight distribution of a wrap, with the adjustability and ease of use of a ring sling.  It’s ideal to use from birth but lasts well as it is very supportive.

On the Reversible Close the horizontal piece that ties across has a beautiful embroidered design on one side.  So if you’re in the mood to be decorative you can wear it facing out.  If you are in the mood for plain you can tie it facing in.  Genius!

The fabrics are really gorgeous too.  It’s a cotton jersey marl with that lovely textured look from the slight variation in colour.  Go and check out the full details on our website now, then if you’re tempted you can put one on your Christmas list.

Keep your baby snug this winter with Bushbaby

October 13, 2010

SnugbugWe’ve had a big delivery of Bushbaby Clothing this week, just in time by the look of things as I wore my gloves on the school run for the first time today!

The Bushbaby range of outdoor clothing for babies and toddlers is ideal for keeping your little ones warm when out and about in the chilly months.  The fleece suits (Snugbugs) are perfect for babies in slings and carriers because they provide warmth without bulk.  If it’s raining you can team them with the waterproof Splashsuit to keep your baby dry as well as warm.

The Snugbugs have fold over hands so there is no need to leave a trail of mittens behind you.  They also have fold over feet, but as carriers tend to pull the legs up a bit the Kosi Feet are ideal to use instead if your baby is in a carrier.  The Kosi Feet are nifty little fleece-lined waterproof bootees.  They come high up the calf so cover the gap between trouser leg and socks very nicely.  They are also hard for babies to kick off!Kosi Feet

Thanks for reading

New Storchenwiege fabric now in stock

October 11, 2010

The lovely Storchenwiege Wraps and Ring Slings are now available at Little Possums in the Lilly fabric.  This has been available for a while but we didn’t stock it at first as there are so many colours to choose and space in our stock room is at a premium.  However I had so many enquiries about it and requests for special orders I decided I had to squeeze it in somehow!

So… due to popular demand the lovely Lilly fabric is now in stock in both sizes of Wrap and also in the Ring Sling.

Both wraps and ring slings are suitable for all ages of baby and toddler.  Wraps are better for weight distribution so are great for heavy babies, but ring slings are brilliant if you want something that is quick and easy to pop on.

You can find both in our online shop.

Moby Wrap ‘slate’ now in stock

September 28, 2010

Grey fabrics are always popular colours for slings.  Less harsh than black but still a colour that blends well with everything you wear, grey goes particularly well with jeans.  Frankly grey is also less likely to show baby dribble or cat hairs than black if we’re being honest…

Consequently we are sure that the ever popular Moby Wrap will be a huge hit in this lovely soft slate grey.  It has paler contrast stitching at the edges which is an attractive feature.

Stretcy wraps like the Moby are brilliant from birth, but as they spread the weight so well they last you for a good long while.  Find out more about the Moby Wrap on our website and snap up a slate while you can!

Calin Bleu Gauze in ‘amethyst’ now in stock

September 23, 2010

Sorry it’s been a bit quiet on the LP blog front…  the summer holidays tend to do that to me as I have two school age children, so the business takes a back seat when they are around.  However now I’m getting back into my term time routine and have time to look for new stock and actually tell you about it.

If you like my wittering I do post more often on the LP Facebook page - as that takes a bit less effort!  It’s worth following us over there anyway as I often post offers or competitions which are exclusive to Facebook.  In fact there was a 10% off code posted yesterday so get over there and find it!

Anyhow, today I have a new fabric to shout about.  The Calin Bleu Gauze Wrap is now available in a lovely new soft pinky purple called ‘amethyst’ (shown here).

The Calin Bleu Gauze Wrap is a great lightweight woven wrap.  Originally designed and marketed mainly for summer use it quickly became apparent that there was demand for it all year round.  Carrying a baby can be a hot and sticky business if you’re rushing around so many mums prefer something lightweight even in the winter.  This is especially true if you like to wear your baby around the house while you’re getting things done.

Find out more or order one on our website.
